About Dr. Pinnar
Eric Pinnar, MD is the Director of Minimally Invasive and Robotic Surgery for Advanced Hernia Specialists in Jacksonville and Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida. Dr. Pinnar is Board Certified in General Surgery and specializes in hernia repair procedures, including cutting edge Open, Laparoscopic, and Robotic Hernia repair techniques. He specializes in “No Mesh” or “Meshless,” and Mesh hernia repairs. With Dr. Pinnar’s over 20 years of experience, he has been a pioneer in the development of Advanced Laparoscopic, Minimally Invasive, and Robotic Surgery. He continues to employ and develop advanced technologies and techniques to achieve the best outcomes. Though he has practiced all aspects of General Surgery, he has the greatest interest in, and has chosen to focus his practice on the complex problem of hernias. He treats all types of hernias.
Our Team
Luis Melendez is our Director of Operations and is a Board Certified Surgical First Assistant. He brings over 20 years of surgical experience, with expertise in most surgical services. He has received specialized training and certification in Advanced Laparoscopic and DaVinci Robotic Surgery. His experience includes educational positions in technical surgical training programs as well as operating room management and supervision.
Luis is a veteran of the United States Navy. He is a graduate from the Naval School of Health Sciences in Bethesda, MD. He served as a Navy Corpsman with the Fleet Marine Force during his distinguished military career.
Taylor, is our friendly and ever-reliable AI receptionist! She helps out tremendously when everyone else is busy. While she may not be perfect, Taylor is always here to help—24/7—with warmth, kindness, and efficiency. She assists patients by answering common questions, helps in scheduling appointments, and guiding them through our services. Whether you're reaching out during business hours or in the middle of the night, Taylor is ready to provide helpful information and ensure your experience with us is as smooth as possible. Taylor is happy to assist—anytime!
Lauren Sandler is our Office Administrator. She has been with Dr. Pinnar for over 20 years. She plays a vital role in ensuring the seamless operation of our busy surgical practice. With exceptional organizational skills and a keen attention to detail, she oversees daily administrative functions, schedules patient appointments, and coordinates with surgical teams to optimize efficiency. Lauren is dedicated to providing outstanding patient service and maintaining a smooth, well-run office that supports both our medical team and the patients we serve.
Patti McGill is our Manager and Billing Specialist. She oversees all financial services. She manages billing, insurance processes, and scheduling. She has worked with Dr. Pinnar for 20 years in many capacities. She has an enormous background with extensive experience in customer service and patient satisfaction. She is adored by our staff and our patients alike.
Matt is our "Jack of all Trades." He handles our IT needs, all things electronic, answers the phone, and is our all around handyman. He is full of knowledge on many subjects, including our practice. He is always eager to help.
